cleaning up an Oil Spill
This experiment shows that cleaning up after an oil spill is nearly impossible. Students can use various sorbents to attempt to clean up a small oil spill in a dish and they will be able to see the complications that occur and can then compare this to a real world situation such as the effects of the BP oil spill disaster.

How Do Oil Spills Affect Marine Life?
We recently had an oil spill in Lake Charles, La. Citgo spilled thousands of barrels of oil due to a heavy rain storm. This is my 1st project so this will be a huge challenge for me but I believe it will be interesting and I hope I can learn from this and maybe teach some of you about our city and water ways that we enjoy so much.
