Hypothesis:

We recently had an oil spill in Lake Charles, La. Citgo spilled thousands of barrels of oil due to a heavy rain storm. This is my 1st project so this will be a huge challenge for me but I believe it will be interesting and I hope I can learn from this and maybe teach some of you about our city and water ways that we enjoy so much. I love to fish and my dad and I are scuba divers. The oil spill hurt our lake among other things. Please send me ideas and info that will help me.

Materials:

glass jars
sand
rocks
corks for fishing
toy boats
Oil spill clean up materials:
cotton, popcorn, paper towels, sponges. popsicle sticks, panty hose.

The Procedure:

I guess I will use glass containers with sand and rocks and add oil to see what happens. I will float a cork to show what happens to it and in another container use wind to move the oil around like a big storm to show how the oil mixes and goes below the surface so you will see how crabs will be affected since they stay at the bottom.?????????????????????????
