Moldy Cheese

Hypothesis:

Yellow mild cheddar cheese will mold quicker than the white sharp cheddar cheese.

Materials:

Yellow Mild Cheddar Cheese
White Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Dark, damp space

The Procedure:

Put each cheese in a sealed plastic bag. Place both bags in a dark closet. Check the cheese once a day, each day for a week. Measure the mold growth.

Results:

The White sharp cheddar molded before the Yellow mild cheddar cheese.

Placed cheese in closet Monday.
Tuesday there was no mold.
Wednesday there was no mold.
Thursday there was no mold.
Friday there was quarter inch of mold on the White sharp cheddar cheese and no mold on the yellow mild cheddar cheese.
Saturday there was a half inch of mold on the White sharp cheddar cheese and still no mold on the yellow mild cheddar cheese.
