Comment #947: A hovercraft consists of seve

A hovercraft consists of several key components.

1. The body
2. The skirt
3. At least one fan/prop.

The fan first inflates the skirt, then establishes an air "bubble" under the craft. This bubble of air is contained by the skirt. As long as the degree of air compression is high enough, the craft will be lifted slightly off the ground or other surface over which the craft may travel.

You'll also need a prop in order to propel the craft forward, and rudders to steer the craft.

There are various materials that can be used for the different components of a hovercraft. Go here for some ideas. The skirt in particular needs to be of suitably strong material.
