Do ferns grow faster in cold weather?

Project title:
Do ferns grow faster in cold weather?
Middle school
None

Hypothesis:

My hypothesis is that ferns grow faster in cold weather. I base my hypothesis on past observations that I have made.

Materials:

3 young ferns in pots of the same size.
3 rooms with air conditioning
water
Measuring tape

The Procedure:

I placed one pot in each room.
Adjusted the temperature in the rooms to 15 degrees Celcius, 22 degrees Celcius and 28 degrees Celcius respectively.
I watered the pots twice a day with 200ml of distilled water
I ensured that the lighting conditions were the same for each room.
After 2 weeks, I measured the lengths of each fern (the ferns were the same size to start with).

Results:

The fern in the room with the temperature set to 15 degrees grew the fastest.

My hypothesis has been proved correct.

What were the other constants for your experiment? eg. soil type and acidity, lighting conditions? You should always explain your experiment constants for completeness sake. That's the best way to score well!
