What's the purpose of polls?

Polls are an easy way to know what most people think of a particular issue.

Whilst the views of a small group of say, for example, 10 teachers, parents and students would be useful, it would be much better to know what 10,000 teachers, parents and students think!

Eg. As you can see from the current poll, many people think that Science Kits are useful! This way, parents would know that other parents out there have bought and used science kits, and found these kits to be educational and helpful!
