does gum lose mass?

Hypothesis:

I think the gum will lose its mass because when you chew the gum, all the sugars will be released & it wil have less mass.

Materials:

1.a couple pieces of gum
2.some thing to weigh the gum with
3.a person to test out the gum

The Procedure:

1.open the packet of gum
2.weigh the gum before chewing it
3.chew the gum for an hour
4.weigh the gum after it has lost its taste(make sure the gum does not have heavy salivia on it
5.compare

Results:

The gum has lost its mass.This happens because as you chew the gum, all the sugars are released, and makes the mass go down.
